Are you really getting the most out of your oscilloscope? Learn the theory and practice of probing in small group lecture + hands-on labs.
About this Event

This is not an EE 101 "how to use an oscilloscope" class. General familiarity with oscilloscopes, transmission line behavior, etc. is assumed.

We focus on moving away from idealized "spherical cow on a frictionless plane" models and developing intuition for the behavior of real-world, non-ideal instrumentation and measurement setups. There are always engineering tradeoffs between cost, accuracy, disturbance to the DUT, difficulty of reaching the test point, and so on. The most expensive or highest bandwidth probe is not always the right choice; neither is the technique that gives the highest accuracy at the cost of other parameters.

In this class, you will work with probes ranging from the humble R-C passive probe to modern active differential probes and speeds from kHz to GHz.

This class is at the same location and one day prior to the Technolution SI / PI seminar and probefest https://www.aanmelder.nl/sipi2026
