OSCAM BOUT IT #6 x Noell3: An ARTist in Residence

BOUT IT is OSCAM's ongoing programme exploring hip-hop as more than music: as culture, archive, artistic language and a space for identity, storytelling and community. Since 2018, BOUT IT has made room for women, queer artists and other voices that remain on the margins of hip-hop, through exhibitions, international writers' camps, exchange and a live programme.

For BOUT IT #6, OSCAM takes the next step: from short-term encounter and exchange towards long-term artistic development. At the centre of this edition is the multidisciplinary artist and performer Noell3, based in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

Together with OSCAM and KIP Republic, Noell3 begins an artist-in-residence trajectory in which music, performance, research and community become part of one evolving artistic process.

During ADE, audiences are invited into that process through an intimate listening session and artistic encounter. Noell3 shares new work and offers a first glimpse into the development of her artistic practice.

Rather than presenting only a finished work, BOUT IT #6 makes the process itself visible. The ADE session is an important first public moment within a longer trajectory leading towards Noell3: An ARTist in Residence at OSCAM in 2027.

BOUT IT is het doorlopende programma van OSCAM waarin hiphop wordt benaderd als meer dan muziek: als cultuur, archief, artistieke taal en een ruimte voor identiteit, storytelling en community. Sinds 2018 biedt BOUT IT ruimte aan vrouwen, queer artiesten en andere stemmen die binnen de hiphop vaak aan de randen blijven, via tentoonstellingen, internationale writers' camps, uitwisseling en een liveprogramma.

Met BOUT IT #6 zet OSCAM een volgende stap: van kortstondige ontmoetingen en uitwisseling naar langdurige artistieke ontwikkeling. Centraal in deze editie staat de multidisciplinaire kunstenaar en performer Noell3, gevestigd in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

Samen met OSCAM en KIP Republic begint Noell3 aan een artist-in-residence-traject waarin muziek, performance, onderzoek en community samenkomen in één doorlopend artistiek proces.

Tijdens ADE wordt het publiek uitgenodigd om onderdeel te worden van dit proces tijdens een intieme luistersessie en artistieke ontmoeting. Noell3 deelt nieuw werk en geeft een eerste inkijk in de ontwikkeling van haar artistieke praktijk.

In plaats van alleen een afgerond werk te presenteren, maakt BOUT IT #6 juist het proces zichtbaar. De ADE-sessie is een belangrijk eerste publiek moment binnen een langer traject dat in 2027 leidt naar Noell3: An ARTist in Residence at OSCAM.
