About this Event
UF/IFAS Extension's Multi-County Commercial Horticulture & IPM Program is offering an in-person Ornamental & Turf and Private Applicator Review Class designed to help pesticide applicators refresh core knowledge, review key concepts, and prepare for upcoming exams. The class will be located at the Hernando County Extension Office.
This course provides a structured review of pesticide safety, laws and regulations, labeling, integrated pest management, application techniques, equipment calibration, and pest identification. The afternoon portion of the program allows participants to focus on content specific to their intended license category.

Course Format
This review course is designed as a focused, in-person learning experience combining lecture and applied discussion. Content is presented to reinforce foundational knowledge while also addressing common problem areas encountered in the field and on exams.
After lunch, participants will divide into two concurrent groups:
- Private Applicator
- Ornamental & Turf
Each group will receive targeted instruction aligned with their respective license category.

General integrated pest management terms and strategies, resistance management, general pest identification, and equipment and calibration basics

Licensing requirements, pesticide laws, labeling, formulations, and application principles

Breakout sessions (participants will divide into separate groups):
- In-depth pest identification, application methods, and calibration concepts specific to the Private Applicator and Ornamental & Turf license categories
