The James Madison Institute (JMI) is coming back to Orlando for another young professionals gathering! Jose L. Gonzalez, Director of Government and Industry Relations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, joins us in Orlando to chat about his career and the intersection of theme parks and Florida legislation.
Prior to joining Walt Disney World, Jose was Region Vice-President, State Affairs for Anheuser Busch Companies. In this role, Jose managed all the regulatory and legislative lobbying in a 21- state region and functioned as the primary representative for Anheuser-Busch before all state and local elected officials. Jose also served as Vice President of Governmental Affairs for Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) - one of the oldest and most respected business associations in the state of Florida. He managed the governmental affairs department and coordinated AIF’s 20- member lobbying team, as well as all research and advocacy efforts for the association. Jose played a leading role in some of the most memorable legislative victories for the business community including the repeal of Joint & Several liability and the passage of legislation protecting the 2003 workers’ compensation reforms.
