Orlando Photo Walk - Milk District

These days you DO have a camera in your pocket.
From the humble camera phone to the DSLR you got for Christmas or maybe you found a point & shoot in the cupboard, perhaps you have a few shots left on a disposable from that wedding..or you're embracing the analog with film.

Whatever it is.... Come play.

I’m going to take you on a stroll through parts of Orlando as we hit up different districts and see what we can see through a lens whilst we chat about what was and what is to come for the area.

Starting with a light walk around one of Orlando’s most diverse and quirky districts.

The Milk District, due east of lake Eola, a few blocks north of 408 and hosting a wide variety of camera fodder, from it's urban setting to the wide variety of bars, the shops and its namesake the ‘Milk Brewery’ itself, T.G.Lees.

On this walking adventure we will roam the neighborhood with our cameras and see what we can create..

Expect the walk aspect to be around an hour and a half.

Aside what you find on the journey I have a few planned stops to explore some history and others to force a limited range for us to capture through the lens.

Aside being your tour guide for the walk I’ll also be there to discuss any technical questions and together we’ll get you set for further photography adventures beyond the basics.

Bring your favourite camera and lens combo.

Whether you use film, digital or your smartphone, everyone is welcome!

Wear comfy walking shoes and layers if it's chilly.

Open to all levels of photographer.

Photowalks are a blend of social networking and creating images of scenes you find compelling along the way.

We meet at Milkhouse on Bumby Ave while we group, ready for the walk.

*They will likely be closed but we'll stop at another coffee shop early in the journey.

Once we're all together, off we go, I’ll talk a little bit about the history of buildings and businesses as we pass by them and all the while you’re encouraged to take photographs of whatever you find interesting.

Be that the showstopper photograph you’ll want to hang in your kitchen or using our surroundings to test your own technical skills or those of your chosen camera there are no limits nor expectations.

I suggest you park at the Plaza Live venue or Colonial Plaza as we start at MilkHouse and end at A La Cart where you’ll receive a discount on a beverage for participating on the photowalk.

I also have a shorter return walk with further history to bring us back to the Plaza Live should you wish to continue after our break at A La Cart.
