Origins of Yoga Workshop ✨ Spoiler alert: yoga is far more than just the physical practice of asana.
In this 3-hour immersion, we’ll journey into the roots of yoga as both a contemplative practice and a way of living. Together, we’ll explore the historical timeline of yoga’s greatest artifacts—from the wisdom traditions of the Vedas to foundational texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
We’ll discuss:
- The many definitions and forms of yoga
- How yoga evolved across traditions and time
- Why asana became the focus in the West—and what that leaves out of the full spectrum of yoga practice
No books are required. If you have a copy of the Bhagavad Gita or Yoga Sutras, you are welcome to bring them.
This Continuing Education Immersion is open to:
- Certified yoga teachers (from any school) looking for CEUs
- Wellness practitioners wanting to enrich their offerings
- Students wishing to deepen their own practice and understanding
