About this Event
Welcome to HACH productions very first ever showcase: "Original Works"
You will be witnessing 4 original pieces written, directed and performed by local artists. These are the mini debuts of these artistic works, and we are very grateful for your support on this very special night! We are seeing pieces from Full length plays, short plays, and film! A great mix of adaptions for this showcase!
HACH stands for Honesty, Authenticity, Creativity, and Humanty. The absolute essentials for art today. HACH's mission is to emphasize local voices, smaller project and the integrity of original, unfiltered work. A place where artists can come to explore their pieces without being directed to what's going to "sell" or be "digestible" or "fixed". Art in its raw and truest form. You can find more about HACH and it's mission statement @hach productions on Instagram!
We look forward to playing for you!
Showing:
Messy Eater By Lois Warwick:
Messy Eater is an abstract clown exploration of the world through the eyes of Pouff Pouff, a very messy clown, with a very sensitive tummy!
Admissions By Kyla Dowling:
As they prepare to open their college decision letters, best friends Alana and Jessie reckon with parental expectations, childhood dreams, and their hopes for the future.
The Tamaran by Anica Zialcita:
The Tamaran follows a girl named Tara, a hybrid between a human and a Tamaraw buffalo from the Philippines. It’s been a couple of weeks since she arrived in Canada for school, and she struggles to stay in the present while holding on to her childhood. With conversations with her present roommate and her childhood best friend back home, she navigates the hardships of being a first-year university student, exploring feelings of hopelessness, imposter syndrome, and loneliness, all while being away from home.
For Such A Time As This by Elysia Tessler:
For Such a Time as This is a satirical tragic farce that takes place in 2024 at a progressive reform synagogue at the holiday of Purim, five months after October 7th. Though they have had five months of relative peace within the community, the congregation's youth group is now raising questions about the Purim’s story’s survivalist, though violent, ending, and their social media erupts, revealing the hidden tensions that have been repressed. This sends the rabbi into a personal and spiritual crisis, as she attempts to unite the wonderful, but now divided, people of her congregation whom she loves so dearly.
