Artist Jackie Lima and co-host Gaia Abraxas will conduct a collaborative workshop where members of the community are invited to write the story of their own family’s origin as part of Lima’s mixed media piece, Tinker Homestead.
From the Arist:
TINKER HOMESTEAD is a piece of Art which contains a painting of my Ancestral home just south of Rochester, N Y in the town of Henrietta. On the painting is written a short history of my family’s migration to this continent and a bio of me. Also, there is an invitation for viewers to interact with the work directly by writing their own bio on a strip of canvas hanging from the painting for that purpose.
