Local artists Fred Joyal and Willoughby Arévalo will guide you through creating a lantern that celebrates the "Tiny Life" theme of this year's Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival. Create a lantern that you can carry in the Renfrew Ravine Twlilight Lantern Procession on September 26!

What to Expect:

  • Create paper firefly shapes using origami and decorate them
  • Insert lights and arrange your fireflies along a branch to carry
  • All materials are included
  • Take your unique light-up insect creation home with you (we encourage you to bring it to the Moon Festival Twilight Lantern Procession on Sept 26!)
  • We'll serve warm tea and cider to enjoy while you work

This workshop is intended for all ages. Children 5 year+ should be able to manage with assistance from an adults. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

No previous art experience is needed. Come ready to get curious, get creative, and give discarded materials new life!
