Suffolk Swords have been added to the English Heritage database of approved medieval reenactment groups and now have the opportunity to provide events at English Heritage sites in and around Suffolk including Orford Castle.Orford Castle have not held events in recent years and hence are looking for small-scale, tailored reenactments predominantly inside the castle keep to test out the process and to earn more money for the site. They wish to hold an event for one weekend in summer 2024 (provisionally 3rd and 4th August - TBC) that utilises the Suffolk Swords as characters bringing history to life within the keep and in the surrounding site area.
They would like as many participants in medieval clothing and armour as possible, portraying characters and storytelling. Please bring as much medieval kit as possible but do not worry if you do not have everything you need. We will have some spare kit to share. Just ask!
