Virtual Option Also Available: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87413279211Our last two Oregon Governors launched initiatives that led to changes in our state land use laws and changes in the way our communities will be developed. Governor Kate Brown directed state agencies to find ways to more aggressively to implement the state’s climate change goals. This directive resulted in legislation on Climate Friendly and Equitable Communities and Middle Housing. Governor Tina Kotek has placed strong emphasis on addressing Oregonians’ housing needs. This initiative has and is continuing to push legislation to change land use laws to make it easier to build homes.
These laws impact all the communities in Linn and Benton Counties. They will result in land use changes within communities themselves and in their urban growth boundaries still within county jurisdiction. Please join the League of Women Voters of Corvallis in exploring these changes in state laws and how they will impact our neighborhoods.
