Directed by Helena McHughFrom one of musical theatre's most exciting new composers comes Ordinary Days, a refreshingly honest and funny sung through musical about making real connections in the city that never sleeps (but probably should at some point).
Warren (Taylor Salton) is flat sitting for a successful wealthy artist, whose penchant for satirical graffiti (think Banksy) has landed him in jail. Warren has continued the sentiment by writing epigrams on pieces of coloured paper and leaving them about the city. On his rounds one day he stumbles on a graduation thesis accidentally dropped by Deb (Kirsty Shields). She has come to New York to complete her literary studies but has become disillusioned with life in general. Warren tracks Deb down from the info in her notes and suggests that he returns them to her at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, under a painting by Claude Monet.
Jason (Cameron McHugh) is eager to cement his love for his girlfriend Claire and he sees moving in with her a way to avoid the 14-block walk between their apartments. But this will involve a lot of furniture rearrangement and purging Claire’s apartment of accumulated stuff. Claire (Kelsey McEwan) agrees to the move but has a hard time letting go of old possessions and (unbeknownst to Jason) old feelings. To Jason’s bewilderment, Claire is especially fierce in her determination to keep a particular sweater. To relieve the tension they decide to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art
