Sunday November 29 * 7pm * $15-25
water the teeth, the debut album by orchiddBB, hyper-fixates on the early challenges of gender transition in the wake of complex trauma. Using a unique instrumental palette (soprano voice, violin, electric bass, and percussion) and novel musical strategies (a hand-signaled system, text to speech, dense instrumental passages), orchiddBB weaves a disorienting, vibrant, and cathartic fabric.
"This caterwauling, with those screaming dissonant strings, near-tuneless operatic vocals and dissembling beats, feels like very nearly the only fair counterpoint to already breaking apart world." - Langdon Hickman, Treble
orchiddBB is Jen Sapiro (voice), Vivek Menon (violin), Mario Fontes (electric bass), Orchid McRae (percussion/text to speech)
Make America Small Again. Ex Bureau of Sensory Affairs. Alma Laprida. Nate Scheible. The change of administration (and the budget cuts) calls for a different kind of action. Short concerts with small objects. Concert 1: Size Matters
W**d Tree - Amanda Huron and Layne Garrett have been improvising together for 15+ years on drums, prepared guitar, and etc.
