BABYLONS DEATH MACHINE is D.C. native and experimental hip-hop/electronic artist Discipline99 and cosmic musician, vocalist, and producer Eboneé A.D. With BABYLONS DEATH MACHINE, the duo surgically expose the arteries through which systemic misery circulates into and out of Black bodies and Black lives infecting, in the process, an entire world with a dying empire’s noxious taint. Like a hot samurai sword passing through vanilla ice cream, they are, with their musical power, slicing right through that bulging vein. BABYLONS DEATH MACHINE is what Eboneé calls “a smorgasbord of Blackness” – a cinematic epic where madness, violence, and confusion yield to hope, grace, and planetary renewal.
Gullah Jack reunites 3 founding members of the 90s power project Noumenal Lingam: Christopher T. Downing has been creating in the space of sound and music for over 40 years. The Grammy Award-winning recording engineer is heard on synth, turntable, EFX, and sound design. Elnathan Starnes is a Grammy-Nominated teaching artist who creates exciting educational shows for young humans. Starnes contributed funky grooves played on electric guitar, talking drums, friction drum, mouth bow, jaw harp, plastic straw, and sample treatments. Conceptualist Thomas "Bushmeat" Stanley adds his sampled voice, synth, and EFX, to a musical project offered in the spirit of the great 19th-century insurrectionist, Gullah Jack.
Jamal Moore is a native of Baltimore Maryland. The multi-instrumentalist, composer/performer, and educator studied at The California Institute of The Arts (M.F.A. 2012), Berklee College of Music (B.M 2005), Eubie Blake Jazz Orchestra (2000) under the direction of Christopher Calloway Brooks, and historically acclaimed Frederick Douglass Sr. High School. He is an affiliate of The Pan African Peoples Arkestra of the late Horace Tapscott, Black Praxis of David Boykin, a member of Konjur Collective, and co-creator of Ancestral Duo with Luke Stewart. Jamal currently leads his own groups, Akebulan Arkestra, Napata Strings, Black Elements Quartet, Organix Trio, and Mojuba Duo.
