What’s Special About This Concert:
We open with Chabrier’s España, a lively orchestral showpiece bursting with the spirit of Spanish dance rhythms — all inspired by the composer’s own travels through Spain.
Guitarist Larry Hammett brings Rodrigo’s Fantasia para un Gentilhombre to life — a piece written for the legendary Andrés Segovia that blends elegant Spanish court music with Rodrigo’s lush, modern sound.
Internationally renowned guitarist Oscar Herrero takes center stage in Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, one of the most famous guitar concertos ever written. Its haunting second movement has become a symbol of beauty, longing, and Spanish pride.
