Orchard Pruning and Care Day at Forever Fields, Whalley Range, MCR

Forever Fields at St Margarets Centre and Playing Fields has a lovely one year old orchard planted lovingly by folks one year ago. It is now time to do the first stage of pruning on any trees that are tall enough. We will also be weeding around the base of the trees and adding more mulch.

You will receive free training on how to do formative pruning on the young fruit trees, which will help to create the shape and height of the tree we want, no prior experience necessary. We will be using sharp tools, so participation is for supervised teens and over 18s only.

Please bring lunch and warm, outdoor clothing. There are toilets onsite. We will provide refreshments and all tools, but if you have any secateurs and gloves please bring them along!
