How did we get the New Testament? There is a story there, and we will share it with you Monday December 8! Oracles of God: The Story of the New Testament explores the decades following the resurrection of Jesus—when His followers began spreading His teachings, first by word of mouth and then in writing. Viewers will trace the composition of the Gospels by those closest to Jesus, the circulation of letters such as Paul’s among the early churches, and the ways early Church Fathers confirmed and preserved these sacred texts.
Through expert interviews, historical reenactments, and archaeological evidence, the film uncovers who wrote the New Testament and when they wrote it. This journey through Scripture’s early history affirms not only the integrity of the biblical text but also the faithful legacy of those who ensured it would reach generations to come.
In theaters nationwide November 2, 3 & 5, now The Mountain Cross is bringing Oracles of God: The Story of the New Testament to Waynesville, Monday December 8 - 6:30pm at the Smoky Mountain Cinema. $10 suggested donation at the door.
