OPRD Invasive Hack

OPRD is seeking volunteers to come out and help improve the health of Owensville’s park system on Thursday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 24 from 3:30-5:30pm in Memorial Park on the South Trail. Learn effective removal methods to help control invasive species, specifically honeysuckle. Bush honeysuckle degrades our beautiful woodlands, neighborhoods, backyards, trails, and stream banks into impenetrable thickets lacking ecological, economic, or recreational value.
Wear weather appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, work gloves and hand snips, hand saw, loppers and/or spade. If you do not have any tools, some will be available. Volunteers will gather at the end of Henry Street by the South Trail.
Pick one date or join both! RSVP requested. Want to volunteer or need more information? Please contact Angela at 573-600-8231 or email [email protected].
