About this Event

Join Us for a Continuing Education Event at The Animal Neurology Center

Dr. Kelli Zimmerman presents an updated version of “Ophthalmology Faux Paws,” a practical, case-based course focused on the ophthalmic conditions most commonly misdiagnosed or mismanaged in everyday veterinary practice. This engaging session emphasizes simple, effective tips and clinical pearls to enhance ophthalmic testing, diagnosis, and treatment for both veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

The course begins with a concise review of essential ocular anatomy, including the lacrimal system, nasolacrimal drainage system, and cornea. From there, participants will explore common ophthalmic conditions such as dry eye disease, corneal ulcers, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, and glaucoma—learning how to recognize key findings, differentiate causes, and select appropriate initial treatment plans. Commonly used ophthalmic medications will also be reviewed, with a focus on proper use, contraindications, and avoiding common pitfalls.
