Operation Smokehouse Showdown
Get ready for the ultimate smoked-meats competition at the Operation Smokehouse Showdown! This annual event challenges competitors to showcase their pitmaster skills across four categories: ribs, cheese, pulled pork, and brisket.
Competitors may begin setting up as early as 12:00pm on Friday, 11 September. Judging and main event activities will officially kick off at 12:00pm on Saturday, 12 September. Entries will be evaluated based on smoky flavor, tenderness, rub profile, and overall quality. Additional judging criteria and guidance will be provided to all registered competitors prior to the event.
Awards will be presented for Overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place, as well as individual category awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place.
Whether you’re a seasoned pitmaster or a first‑time competitor, this event promises a full day of great food, friendly competition, and an energetic atmosphere. Come fire up your smokers, put your best flavors forward, and enjoy a day of good vibes, great eats, and outstanding company.
What MWR Will Provide:
• Adequate competition space
• Tables
• Chairs
• Tent(s) if needed
• Access to power and water
• Trash cans
• Event monitors who will oversee competitor areas and assist as needed
When signing up you will be asked what you will need.
Ice will be available for purchase
Setup and Report Times:
• Setup begins: 1200 on Friday, 11 September
• Drop‑dead report time: 0600 on Saturday, 12 September
(All competitors must be onsite and checked in by this time.)
Contestants will need to check in once they are onsite.
Contestant Responsabilities:
Meat (Pork ribs, Pork Butt, Beef Brisket): Will come in store package clean of any seasoning, salt or brine
Cheese: will be in store package
Seasonings, brine and add-ins: Your meat your way. Bring what you need to make the best.
Cooking utensils, grill, coolers.
Additional Details on judging and food turn in times will be provided to competitors closer to competition date.

Info: Competitors will have 10 minutes to turn in Ribs in dish provided to them.

Info: Competitors will have 10 minutes to turn in Smoked Cheese in dish provided to them.

Pork Turn in
Info: Competitors will have 10 minutes to turn in pulled purk in dish provided to them.
🕑: 03:50 PM
Brisket Turn in
Info: Competitors will have 10 minutes to turn in Brisket Slices and burnt ends in dish provided to them.
🕑: 05:00 PM
Awards
Info: Judges will determin overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and Category 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
