Operation Rising Spirits: Card-Writing Event
About this Event
On December 3, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., everyone is welcome at the Village of Forest Park Administration Building, 2nd Floor, to write heartfelt cards filled with gratitude, encouragement, and warm holiday wishes.
This year brings something special: for the first time, the cards will feature artwork designed by Forest Park artists, adding a unique piece of our community to every message sent to veterans.
Operation Rising Spirits is a community effort from Commissioner Michelle Melin-Rogovin, the Historical Society of Forest Park, Forest Park Arts Alliance, and Park District of Forest Park.
Come write a card, connect with neighbors, and help spread a little holiday kindness. Refreshments will be provided, and all ages are welcome to participate.
Every card is a simple way to let a veteran know they are remembered, appreciated, and honored this holiday season.
Coming to write cards for veterans? You can design one, too!
Forest Park residents are invited to submit original artwork for our 2026 Operation Rising Spirits cards. Three winning designs will be printed and used at this year’s card-writing events, with categories for K–8, high school, and adults.
