Operation Rising Spirits - Card-Writing Event

Operation Rising Spirits returns for its 4th year, bringing Forest Park together to write holiday cards for Illinois veterans.
About this Event

On December 3, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., everyone is welcome at the Village of Forest Park Administration Building, 2nd Floor, to write heartfelt cards filled with gratitude, encouragement, and warm holiday wishes.

This year brings something special: for the first time, the cards will feature artwork designed by Forest Park artists, adding a unique piece of our community to every message sent to veterans.

Operation Rising Spirits is a community effort from Commissioner Michelle Melin-Rogovin, the Historical Society of Forest Park, Forest Park Arts Alliance, and Park District of Forest Park.

Come write a card, connect with neighbors, and help spread a little holiday kindness. Refreshments will be provided, and all ages are welcome to participate.

Every card is a simple way to let a veteran know they are remembered, appreciated, and honored this holiday season.
