TATJANA PIETERS is pleased to invite you to 'Second®', the third solo exhibition by Ben Edmunds at the gallery.
Ben Edmunds’ work can be characterised by an unusual combination of colour field abstraction and adventure sports equipment. Created by layering thin mists of fabric dye, the colour-rich canvases are stained and relate to modernists such as Jules Olitski, Helen Frankenthaler and Kenneth Noland. With sculptural and graphic design interventions the works are brought into the present moment, proposing painting as a sort of tool for adventure, with its own rules, materiality and branding.
Ben Edmunds (UK, 1994) lives and works in Norwich (UK). Selected solo & group exhibitions include L21, Barcelona (ES) JARILAGER, Cologne (DE), Simulacra, Beijing (CH), Anex PTG, Berlin (DE), TATJANA PIETERS, Ghent (BE), THE SHOPHOUSE, Hong Kong (HK), Copperfield, London (UK), Asia Art Center, Taipei (TW), Choi&Lager, Seoul (KR), Kaikai Kiki, Tokyo (JP), Courtauld Institute of Art, London (UK) among others. Edmunds’ work is in several private collections in Europe, Asia and the US. In 2026 he will have exhibitions at Night Café, London (UK) & Piero Atchugarry, Miami (US).
