Opening of Metafloric, an art exhibition of Bill Albertini and Ellen Wiener
About this Event
Join East End Arts & Humanities Council for the opening of Metafloric, a two-artist exhibition pairing the strikingly different practices of Bill Albertini and Ellen Wiener, united by a shared fascination with the natural world, myth, and the passage of time.
Albertini transforms industrial fragments, brackets, pipes, valves, into hybrid botanical and organism-like sculptures using digital modeling and 3-D printing. What begins as recognizably mechanical evolves into forms that feel alive: part plant, part creature, part artifact from an unknown era.
Wiener works by hand, layering multimedia paintings, prints, and miniature sculptural collages that incorporate elemental materials like iron, silicon, and calcium. Her landscapes are swept by invented winds carrying ephemera, notebooks, frames, floating fragments, blurring the line between observation and imagination.
Together, their work suggests that the sublime isn't found beyond the material world, but embedded within it: in the overlooked, the microscopic, and the everyday.
