Join us for the opening night of "Exquisite Intangible", a new exhibition of ceramics and drawing by Newcastle-based artist Mel Jhey.
Mel Jhey's practice explores the somatemotional connection through material, process and environment. Working primarily with ceramics alongside drawing and installation, she treats her materials as responsive, unpredictable collaborators, allowing clay, glaze and fire to shape the final form. The resulting hybrid sculptures sit between the familiar and the surreal — botanical growths, anatomical fragments, relics and speculative lifeforms that trace cycles of decay and regeneration.
Light refreshments provided. All welcome — no RSVP required.
Exhibition continues Fri–Sun, 4–20 September (Sept 4–6, 11–13 & 18–20), 9am–2pm, until Sunday 20 September 2026.
