Opening Doors Together 2026: Enabled Home Showcase
About this Event
Inglis is excited to announce the addition of a special evening program highlighting "Enabling Technology in the Home" on Wednesday, September 9th as part of the 2026 Opening Doors Together Housing Conference.
This evening program will consist of a policy-focused panel entitled: The Future of Housing and Technology: Might Tech be the Key to Unlock Access & Options? moderated by Gabrielle Sedor, Chief Operations Officer of ANCOR with the following guest panelists:
- Juliet Marsala, Deputy Secretary from the PA Department of Human services, Office of Long-Term Living
- Jeremy Yale, Policy Director from the PA Department of Human Services, Office of Developmental Programs
- Jason Kavulich, Secretary from the PA Department of Aging
Following the panel discussion, we'll end the evening with the Enabled Home Showcase. The Showcase will highlight five innovative, enabling technology demonstration spaces across Pennsylvania—Inglis, KenCrest, UPMC's Assist+, University of Pittsburgh's Healthy Home Labortory, and Temple University Institute on Disabilities' TechOwl— that demonstrate how technology is transforming home environments for increased accessibility, independence, and quality of life for people with disabilities and older adults.
Attendees will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite participating organization alongside a panel of judges, including:
- Jim Osborn, retired CMU Executive Director of Quality of Life Technology Center
- Will Hall the Executive Director of Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation
- Candice Davis, self-advocate
