Open Table Skill Share: Gender Affirming Make Up Basics and Tutorial
About this Event
Join us for this month's Skill Share, where we discuss makeup and its uses for gender affirmation and expression. At this community-centered skill share hosted by ASATTCI, join us to learn some of the history of makeup, what the foundational elements are used for, and a short tutorial with our host to practice application in a safe and judgment-free environment. There will be a short presentation, a tutorial, and an open forum discussion. Some makeup and cleansing wipes will be provided, but feel free to bring makeup that you already own or are curious about. Anyone who ever wished they had a cool older sibling to paint their face with is welcome, regardless of skill level or gender identity.
About our host: Mira (She/They) is a bookseller, teacher, and recovering theater kid. She has been playing with makeup for most of their life, but started wearing it almost daily over 15 years ago, and has been trained in stage and some special effects techniques as a form of artistic and gender expression.
