About this Event

What are open studio hours?:

  • A dedicated three-hour time slot during which our workshop space will be available to anyone working on a window restoration project.
  • Access to the workspace, some tools, and equipment.
  • You must bring your own tools and clean up your space after use.
  • There will be someone available during open studio hours for general questions about equipment and tool use.
  • You must sign up in advance and purchase a ticket.


Dates & Time: every Wednesday from 5 pm - 8 pm in September. Below are the dates.

Who Should Attend/Experience Level?:

  • Open to all working on a window restoration project.

Note: These open studio hours is go at your own pace and are not a formal workshop. There will be no formal instruction on window restoration.

Location: 97 Admiral Street, Providence, RI, 02903 (the Esek Hopkins House). There are two parking lots. One is where the house is located, and another lot is located at Hopkins Park, across the street from the Dunkin Donuts located at 50 Admiral Street. Please leave yourself plenty of time to park!


Attire: Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and sturdy, non-slip shoes.

NOTE: All visitors should wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes and be prepared for dust, uneven floors, and navigating older, narrow stairways. There is no air conditioning or heating in the house, so visitors should also be prepared for the temperature inside to reflect the outdoor temperature that evening.


Cost:

$25 PPS Members // $30 General (Program support is available for community members who cannot afford to pay the full cost of one open studio date; email us at [email protected] to inquire). If you are full-time in the trades or a student, there is a special ticket price of $15; please email [email protected] for more information.
