Come join us for two days filled with exciting discussions and hands-on activities focused on utilizing open-source investigative for preserving and investigating cultural heritage crimes. Whether you're interested in understanding conflicts from space, how to identify dis- and misinformation, how to support legal accountability for cultural heritage, or just passionate about protecting the past, this workshop is for you!
Learn from experts in the field, network with like-minded individuals, and gain valuable insight into how to navigate the complex landscape in which investigations take place all through a hands-on investigation with tools like online searching, video authentication, and satellite image analysis. Getting to the University of New Haven
The University of New Haven is conveniently located at 300 Boston Post Road in West Haven, CT. Campus is about 10 minutes from downtown New Haven and accessible via bus and car.
Driving: The University is located off of I-95 via Exit 43 or right off of Route 1 (Boston Post Road). Parking is available on campus and off campus. If you plan to park at the University, let us know and we will reserve a spot.
Flying: The nearest airports to the University are Tweed New Haven (HVN) regional airport and Bradley Internatioanl Airport (BDL). Tweed is about 15 minutes away in New Haven and Bradley is about 45 minutes away in Hartford. Both have budget and mainstream airline options. We are also accessible to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City via train or car (~2 hours away) and Logan International Airport in Boston (~3 hours away).
Train: New Haven Union Station is conveniently located 10 minutes from the University and runs both Amtrak and Metro North trains. Buses run from the train station to the University.
Getting Around While Here
If you are not driving and will need to get around (e.g. to and from your hotel), there are several options. Buses run in and around the New Haven area. You can download an App to purchase bus tickets from CTGo. Ride share apps are also available (Lyft and Uber) as well as regular Taxis.
The University also works with Propark Shuttle who can arrange pick ups and drop offs. They can be reached at 203-781-8030.

The University has negotiated rates with several hotels in the area. The first two are the most often used. If you encounter trouble booking, please contact us and we can help.
