Choral singers of all levels: Join members of the Zamir Chorale of Boston in an Open Sing of Judas Maccabaeus! Listeners are welcome, too.
About this Event

We invite choral singers of all levels to join members of the Zamir Chorale of Boston and pianist Edwin Swanborn, under the direction of Prof. Joshua Jacobson, to sing some of the favorite choruses from George Frideric Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus. Bring your own score or use one of ours. Listeners are welcome, as well.

Admission is free but we do encourage a donation of $10. Pre-registration is strongly suggested so that we have enough seats.

George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) is best known to the general public today as the composer of Messiah, one the greatest and most popular oratorios of all time. Five years after Messiah, in the summer of 1746, Handel began to compose a more dramatic oratorio, based on the Biblical Apocrypha, Judas Maccabaeus.
