This Spring, Open Nature Gardens Bunbury gives you the chance to discover a diverse collection of private gardens, from tiny verge designs to habitat gardens and rewilded urban oases, all open to the public for one special morning!
Feed your curiosity and explore some of Bunbury’s beautiful private nature gardens. We have mapped out a cycle trail, (which can also be enjoyed on foot or by vehicle!), meandering through the suburb of South Bunbury, around the Bunbury Big Swamp.
Central meeting location at the Bunbury Big Swamp with wonderful local coffee and food vans for a re-fuel is a must-stop!
Hear from the Friends of Big Swamp (FoBS) volunteers about the fantastic revegetation work that the area has undergone with the help of these dedicated volunteers in re-establishing this area as an important urban green space for the Bunbury community. Get insights into which species have worked well in this environment and why. The FoBS volunteers are also involved in an exciting citizen science program, the Save Our Snake-Necked Turtle program, find out how you can get involved at their stall!
