Lance Walter
At every venue, restaurant, arts center, mesuem, or other store/attraction there is at least one patron that goes above and beyond. For Auburn Public Theater, Lance Walter was that patron; with more than 500 Open Mic Night visits under his belt, Lance was without a doubt one of APT's most loyal attendees. Known for his regular appearances at Open Mic Night, he would read chuckle evoking poetry, punctuated by one liners ranging from politics, tomatoes, the antics of pets, and social issues. In addition to this, especially during the very first years of APT, he would hand draw artisitc marquee signs for shows and programming. One of his most treasured characteristics was how kind he was to his fellow Open Mic Night patrons, always praising them for their talent, and singing their accolades from the audience.
Please join us as we remeber one of APT's most joyful and loyal patrons, Lance Walter.
YOUR MC: Daniel Kringer
Daniel is a classically trained operatic tenor, music teacher, concert organiser, podcast host (The Skanfest Podcast), guitar player, and life-lover.
He grew up one town over in Skaneateles, and later attended The Crane School of Music to earn a B.M. in Music Education. Inspired by his teachers at Crane, Daniel proceeded to work enthusiastically for three years as a school music teacher; directing choirs and teaching music electives. He spent intervening summers working with organizations like Berkshire Opera Festival (MA), Berkshire Choral Festival (MA), and Skaneateles Festival (NY), and eventually was pulled back to performance full-time. From 2019-2021, Daniel trained and earned an M.A. in Vocal Studies at The Royal Academy of Music, London. He subsequently sang as an opera and concert tenor for two years, before being forced to take a hiatus due to medical concerns, but is happy to now be returning to the arts community gradually as a performer and teacher in upstate New York.Since returning to the area, Daniel has started a private vocal studio in Elbridge, NY, and collaborated with the Skaneateles Festival to pilot an artist interview series - 'The Skanfest Podcast' - on Youtube and Spotify.
