Open Mic Night

Open Mic Night is where Pittsburgh’s builders, researchers, and creatives take the stage. Expect a fast-moving mix of startup pitches, university research spotlights, and bold opinion pieces from across our ecosystem. Every session feels different — sometimes you’ll hear a founder testing their story, sometimes a researcher unveiling fresh results, sometimes a journalist or technologist sparking a conversation with a hot take.

For speakers:

• 8 minutes max on the mic, no visual aids (decks)
• Any format is welcome: company pitches, research presentations, or opinion pieces
• Keep it clear, engaging, and accessible — your audience is diverse and curious

For attendees:

• Grab a drink and a small plate while you settle in — this isn’t your typical stiff networking night
