Open Mic Night at The Base

Join us for a welcoming, alcohol-free Open Mic Night at The Base, presented in partnership with City Writes.

This is a supportive, relaxed space for people to share poetry, spoken word, music, or short stories — whether you’re a regular performer or trying the mic for the first time. You’re just as welcome to come along to listen and enjoy the atmosphere.

What to expect

• A friendly, respectful room
• 5–7 minute performance slots
• Beginners and new voices very welcome
• Hosted with care, blending creativity, community, and wellbeing

• Environment: Alcohol-free

Performer information

• Sign-up will be available on the night (with limited pre-booked slots)
• A microphone and basic PA will be provided
• Acoustic instruments and backing tracks are welcome
• Please note: no filming or photography of performers without consent
