An open mic honoring Black History Month, hosted by Audrey Dove and Jordan Knoxx.
About this Event

Join us in our auditorium for a community open mic honoring Black History Month.

Hosted by Flushing-based artist and elder Audrey Dove and Hollis-born musician Jordan Knoxx, this special afternoon is open to all who would like to share a 5-minute performance — or simply come and watch.

About Audrey

Audrey Dove is a resident of Flushing, New York, and has been active in the local arts scene. She has exhibited her paintings at the Queens Public Library at Flushing, the Flushing Town Hall and has received Honorable Mentions at the Queens County Fair. Her work has been recognized for its beauty and creativity, and she has been a part of the cultural fabric of Flushing for over thirty years.

About Jordan
Jordan Knoxx, a Hollis, Queens native, began her journey as a standout basketball player before shifting her focus to academics at the University of Delaware, where she discovered her voice as a powerful performance poet. Her breakthrough piece, “The Wrong One,” established her reputation for raw, truth-driven artistry and led to her evolution from spoken word to Hip Hop. Knoxx went on to release multiple projects, perform across various platforms—including WBAI’s “The Hip Hop Takeover”—and develop a reputation for fearless, conscious storytelling. With years of stage and recording experience behind her, she now shares her spiritual and personal journey through her latest Hip Hop gospel LP, iSurrender.

Location: Visitor and Administration Building Auditorium

Cost: Free (suggested donation of $5-$10)
