Open House: Bohemian National Cemetery
About this Event
Join the Friends of Bohemian National Cemetery for guided tours of one of Chicago’s most significant historic landmarks.
Founded in 1877, Bohemian National Cemetery reflects the rich cultural heritage of Czech and Central European immigrant communities in Chicago. During the tour, visitors will explore notable monuments, historic sections, and other points of interest throughout the cemetery.
Participants will receive a map highlighting key sites, along with information about important monuments, cemetery history, and upcoming events.
Whether you are interested in local history, architecture, genealogy, or Czech heritage, this open house offers a unique opportunity to discover an important chapter of Chicago's past.
Self-guided tours begin at the Office Building, where you will receive a map of the cemetery along with recommendations on which areas to visit to gain a deeper appreciation of its strong historical connection to Chicago's Czech community.
