Open House & Public Reading the Declaration of Independence

Join St. John’s Church on the Town Green for a special one-hour community celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the reading of the Declaration of Independence. St. John’s will participate alongside the Historical and Mayflower Societies, the Town of North Haven, and the Congregational Church for a memorable ceremony honoring this historic moment. The event will begin with the ringing of church bells, followed by music from the Lancraft Fife and Drum Band and a public reading of the Declaration of Independence—just as it was shared 250 years ago. After the ceremony, guests are invited to visit St. John’s Church and explore its beautiful historic sanctuary.
