Considering postgraduate study in fine art? Join representatives from the MA Contemporary Fine Art and Castlefield Gallery to learn about studying at the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology, University of Salford.
In addition to being taught by practising artists with national and international reputation, students on the course benefit from engagement with industry professionals resulting from the University of Salford’s dynamic partnerships. Greater Manchester has one of the fastest growing creative sectors outside of London, and Castlefield Gallery is one of several significant industry partners the University of Salford collaborates with each year. This includes opportunities for one-one artist statement reviews with Curators, industry led work critique sessions and placement opportunities. These Industry partnerships are designed to boost the career prospects of those studying on courses at the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.
Castlefield Gallery’s engagement with students extends beyond study periods. 2024 marks 10 years of the University of Salford Art Collection and Castlefield Gallery’s collaboration on the Graduate Scholarship programme, Salford Scholars. Each year, graduate scholarships are awarded to a selection of students. Those continuing onto the Salford Scholars programme receive bespoke support tailored to their individual needs and aspirations, including a programme of mentoring, coaching and professional development, a Castlefield Gallery Associates membership, a materials bursary and a 12 month sponsored studio space with one of the scheme’s studio partners in Salford: Hot Bed Press, Islington Mill, and Paradise Works. MA Contemporary Fine Art students are eligible to apply to Salford Scholars as they come to the end of their study period.
