The Island Players theatre company (of Saint Simons Island, Georgia) announces auditions for adult acting roles in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Musical. The Island Players has created quality productions of beloved theatre classics since 1956. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, based on the 1988 movie of the same name, explores newsworthy topics of power, control, and ego. Through sharp comedy, the musical questions the lengths people will go to protect their own image.

Auditions at 7 pm, July 19 and 20, with callbacks July 21
At the St Simons Theatre at Pier Village (530 Beachview Drive, St Simons Island, GA) 6 main roles for adults to volunteer as actors (should be 16 to audition) - plus ensemble.
Roles are open to actors of all ethnicities and cultural backgrounds.
To audition, prepare a song that shows your vocal range and showcases your acting talent. If you have sheet music a pianist will be provided. If you prefer to sing with a track, a bluetooth speaker will be available. You will also be asked to cold read short selections from the script.
Show dates September 25, 26, 27 and October 2, 3, 4. Rehearsal schedule to be discussed at auditions. Historically, the troupe practices on nights and weekends on Saint Simons Island.
The Island Players is a not for profit, volunteer run community theatre, operating since 1956. With a strong local following, the Island Players consistently sells out its theatre productions, garners newspaper media coverage, and reaches up to 480 households and 1,400 individuals per performance. Our social media feed has captured a sizable percent of the local market and The Island Players promises live theatre with a live band. They consistently lead as a top Glynn County institution by number of followers and engagement. Acting with the Island Players will position you to reach a new audience, grow your talent and get training from seasoned theatre practitioners. Proceeds from the show are reinvested into the next show and post high school scholarships for alumni.
