HEARTLAND THEATRE COMPANY announces Auditions December 8 & 9 for SMOKEFALL
Audition Dates/Times: Monday, December 8, and Tuesday, December 9, 7-10 PM
SMOKEFALL by Noah Haidle, is directed by Sandra Zielinski.
Place of Audition: Heartland Theatre Company, 1110 Douglas St, in the Normal Community Activity Center

ABOUT THE PLAY:
SMOKEFALL is a surreal and poetic meditation on family, memory, and the passage of time, where the mundane and the magical intertwine across generations.
Violet, the family matriarch, juggles duty to her father, husband, and children including the twins not yet born who sing Sondheim. Her father, the Colonel, doesn’t remember much. Her husband, Daniel, is hollowed appearing empty or insincere in his expressions or actions. Beauty, the paint-drinking daughter, copes with her parents’ arguing by adopting weird eating habits and declaring herself mute. Longing for her father, she circles the world searching for him.
Somehow this crazy, mixed-up family finds their way through time past, present, and future. What ensues are poignant themes of love, loss and the cyclical nature of family history. SMOKEFALL is bittersweet, funny, loving and familiar in the most beautiful way.
