Course Information
Onwentsia Club - You can't tell the history of early American golf without Onwentsia. Established in 1895, Onwentsia was one of the country's first golf courses. C.B. Macdonald led the first nine holes before friend H.J. Tweedie built the second nine. The course went on to host the 1899 U.S. Amateur, 1900 Western Amateur, and 1906 U.S. Open. More recently, Tom Doak renovated the golf course in the late 1990s. The club is loaded with history, including its clubhouse and old-school layout. And while the history buffs will geek out, its architecture chops will appeal to anyone.
