Two x 120 minute Question and Answer sessions about childbirth and breastfeeding with a midwife & Vietnamese Interpreter at RWH, Melbourne
About this Event

Childbirth Education two-part series with a Vietnamese interpreter and one of the Women’s childbirth educators. You must be birthing at the RWH, Melbourne to be eligible to attend.

This series is conducted in a group over two Wednesday mornings from 10:00 -12.00 pm at the hospital

These are topics that may be covered:

Week One

• When to call the hospital

• How labour works

• Things you can do to promote your labour

Week Two

• Drugs for reducing your pain

Breastfeeding

As we cannot conduct Hospital Tours, we encourage you to watch the virtual tours on The Women’s website: https://www.thewomens.org.au/patients-visitors/cbe/childbirth-education-parkville-video-tour/

One ticket is for both you and your partner or support person.

Please book your ticket using the pregnant person’s name.

Booking tips:

· Places are limited, so look for a program where you will be around 28-34 weeks pregnant and book your ticket. Programs fill quickly - don't delay.

· Use the name of the pregnant person when you book.

· You must provide your Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne Medical Record Number to book. We will check you are booked to have your baby at the Women’s.

· A confirmation email will be sent by Eventbrite after booking.

Payments and Refunds

Each family is eligible for ONE ticket only. This ticket includes the pregnant person and their partner or support person

Medicare Card Ticket - Free when the pregnant person:

is booked to birth as a public patient at the Women’s hospital, Victoria

has a valid Medicare card (or eligible for reciprocal rights)

No Medicare Card Ticket - $250.00 when the person:

is booked to birth as a private patient at the Women’s hospital, Victoria

The fee is refundable if you cancel at least one week prior to the first class. Some private health funds may provide a rebate for the program; however, it is up to the participant to check with their own health fund.

Need to cancel or reschedule?

· If you need to reschedule, please CANCEL your booking on the Eventbrite website, and then rebook into another course. PLEASE remember to cancel to allow somebody else to take your spot.

· If you can’t make it to one of your booked sessions, we are unable to offer a “make-up” session for the one you missed. Written summaries are provided for the program.
