Alan O'Hare, aka "Only Child", makes emotional music.
Since forming in 2012, his band have released five acclaimed LPs, three EPs, a live mini-album recorded with a string quartet and a decade-celebrating compilation LP on Crosstown Records.
The group have headlined The Music Room at Royal Liverpool Philharmonic on many occasions, alongside sold-out shows at The Zanzibar Club, 81 Renshaw, The Magnet and Thornton Hough Village Club on Wirral.
"Only Child" have also supported the likes of Blue Rose Code, My Darling Clementine, Pete Wylie, Ian Prowse & Amsterdam, Steve Pilgrim, Gemma Hayes, Martin Stephenson, John Bramwell, Mick Flannery and many more.
"Only Child" play an annual with strings concert and O'Hare is delighted to be bringing a string quartet with him to Southport for the first time in 2026, following sold-out strings shows at Tate Liverpool, Prohibition Recording Studios and Leaf Liverpool.

The Silver Freds are the "house band" at the long standing Grateful Fred's Americana, Roots and Acoustic Nights at Southport's Atkinson Theatre.
Performing songs and instrumentals with their lineup of fiddle, percussion, guitar, banjo, mandolin and bass, "The Freds" repertoire ranges from Old-Timey jugband songs, Americana classics, folk and blues standards and their own originals.
With both bands offering a wide range of songs and tunes right across the genres the evening will have something for everyone who enjoys live acoustic music.
