Marking one year since the 2025 Mandalay Earthquake, this event brings together leaders from the private sector, development partners, humanitarian organizations, engineers, and community networks to reflect on lessons learned and explore how Myanmar can strengthen earthquake preparedness.
The first anniversary of the earthquake is not intended as a memorial alone. It is a moment for national reflection and renewed commitment. As Myanmar’s cities continue to grow and urban density increases, preparedness must become part of everyday culture so that future earthquakes do not result in greater loss and disruption.
This event aims to shift thinking from reacting to disasters toward anticipating them. By bringing together responders, planners, businesses, and community leaders, the seminar seeks to strengthen collaboration, promote safer construction practices, and encourage continued investment in awareness and readiness.
Program Highlights
The event will take place in two parts:
Seminar Session
Reflections and discussions on experiences from response and recovery, highlighting lessons that can guide future preparedness and resilience.
Preparedness Exhibition
Organizations dedicated to earthquake resilience will present practical tools, technologies, and initiatives that support safer construction and stronger community preparedness in Myanmar.
