This screening is free and open to the public. Tickets are available at the box office only (not online). They can be picked up in advance during our regular box office hours, or at the door the afternoon of the screening.
Adapted by Kemp Powers from his acclaimed play, Regina King’s directorial debut is a fictional retelling of one night in 1964, when Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered and grappled with their places within the sweeping change of the civil rights movement.
Our annual free Juneteenth Community screening is supported in part by the Town of Amherst, and from a grant from the Amherst Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
