In celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the Republic of Korea, the Orchestra of the Music Makers presents One Melody: 하나의 선율.
Under the baton of Music Director Chan Tze Law, the evening begins with the world premiere of what the sea was whispering, a new work by Singaporean composer Jonathan Shin.
Renowned Korean pianist Kun-Woo Paik then takes the stage for Ravel’s brilliant Piano Concerto in G major, a sparkling blend of classical finesse and jazz-inspired rhythm. The concert closes with the sweeping drama of Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, reimagined for full orchestra in Schoenberg’s vivid and colourful orchestration.

Kun-Woo Paik is invited via a collaboration between Altenburg Arts and Orchestra of the Music Makers (OMM). In addition to this concert, he will be performing a solo recital, Kun-Woo Paik plays Mozart: Wit, Wonder, and the Unexpected on Tuesday, 4 November at the Victoria Concert Hall.
