One Garden, Four Seasons

A seasonal approach to creative storytelling, from the eye through the lens.

Created to help women define what their eyes see — and how it feels.

Four uniquely designed sessions that build on each other through the changing seasons, each one deepening your creative eye and your confidence behind the lens.

May 23 — Awakening

The garden is just waking up. So are you. You'll choose heroes — subjects that move you, or speak to you — not because it's the prettiest thing here, but because something about it called to you. That instinct is where your story begins.

June 27 — Fullness

The garden is overflowing. This is where you make your first courageous, creative decisions — what to include, what to leave out, and what you want to say. Composition starts here.

July 25 — Chaos & Texture

Full bloom is layered and wild. You'll learn to find stillness inside the chaos, read the light, and let one clear story rise to the surface.

September 26 — Mood & The Final Act

Softer light, longer shadows. You know your hero now. You know your story. This is where it all comes together — and where you'll discover just how far your creative eye has come.

You will learn to compose from what draws you in — from the feeling that made you want to capture the image in the first place. You'll be encouraged to use every tool available to tell the story that is uniquely yours. You will leave with the confidence to trust your eye, tell your story, and call yourself a photographer.

9:00 – 9:20 AM | Welcome & Session Intention (indoors at Schell's)
We gather, connect, and set the creative focus for the day. Each session opens with a brief discussion of what we are looking for, what we are feeling, and what story we want to tell. No cameras out yet — just eyes and conversation.

9:20 – 10:40 AM | Field Work
This is where the magic happens. You move through the garden at your own pace with guided prompts and gentle direction. I am with you — watching, encouraging, and helping you trust what your eye is drawn to.

10:40 – 11:00 AM | Wrap Up & Share
We come back together to share a favorite capture from the day — no critiquing, just celebrating. We close with a preview of what the next session will build toward so you leave already thinking like a photographer.

Of course, you are welcome to come early or stay later to take advantage of the gardens and capture whatever moves you and catches your eye.
