Stop swinging sticks and start making movies! Led by action expert Orion Barnes, this explosive all-levels intensive gives you a taste of the 7 Forms of Combat. You will learn the precise footwork, lightning-fast fluid choreography, and physical storytelling needed to go from "actor with a prop" to "legendary warrior." This is high-concept sci-fi combat at its finest. Come turn a sword fight into a high-stakes, cinematic event. This is an all-levels sanctuary for the curious and the bold. (No lightsaber required.) We focus on posture, intention, and the narrative weight behind every strike. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned martial artist, this lab is about adding a highly specialized and marketable skill to your toolkit while embracing the playfulness of the genre. What You Will Learn: The 7 Forms Shii-Cho: The fundamentals of defense and foundational combat. Makashi: The precision of one-handed offense and the art of the salute. Soresu: Mastering the "Defensive Cage" and redirection. Ataru: Fluid, constant movement—the mainstay Jedi form. Shien: The "Power Form"—aggressive leaps and sweeping arcs. Niman: The "Diplomat’s Form"—focusing on disarms and harmony. Juyo: The rare, complex execution of all forms combined. The Result: You will walk away with a sharpened sense of physical presence and a unique specialty for your resume. You will leave the room knowing how to correctly execute (and pronounce) the forms that casting directors prioritize in major sci-fi and action auditions. Instructor Spotlight Orion Barnes brings a wealth of expertise in stage combat and movement choreography. Known for his ability to break down complex physical sequences into actionable storytelling beats, Orion helps actors bridge the gap between technical martial arts and cinematic performance. His approach emphasizes that in choreography, there are no "wrong" movements, only different ways to tell the story.
