About this Event
How to make inclusive and accessible, sensory-rich visitor experiences.
This one-day workshop explores practical and achievable tools, techniques and approaches that can improve access to our natural heritage for all visitors.
Who is it for:
People working or volunteering in woodlands, forests, parks, gardens, farms, moorlands, wetlands, visitor attractions or historic estates.
In the workshop you will:
- Find out how to make your visitor experience more inclusive and accessible.
- Discover how to use the Access Chain to understand a visitor’s journey and plan an accessible event.
- Use practical tools to help you identify and appreciate the sensory opportunities you have.
- Learn how to create inclusive and engaging sensory-rich experiences.
- Understand the importance of pre-visit information to welcome visitors of all ages and abilities.
What to wear and bring:
- This workshop will take place both inside and outside in nature.
- Please dress for the weather and bring a packed lunch.
- Refreshments and training materials provided, you may want to bring a notebook and pen.
