On Sunday, November 17, experience a special reading of ; written by Andi Vicente and illustrated by Allan Matudio—named by as one of the “top kids; books to read for Fall 2024,” One Box is a delightful story about a migrant worker sending a balikbayan box filled with gifts, promises, and love to family in the Philippines.
This free, family-friendly event is an opportunity to inspire our kids to share and connect with others—to embrace generosity, creativity, gratitude and compassion.

Get ready for an afternoon filled with fun and creativity:

• A special reading of One Box by Andi Vicente and Allan Matudio (purchase a copy on-site and get it signed)!
• Join Kasama Chocolate for a chocolate-decorating session!
• Help fill and decorate a balikbayan box for the Tondo Arts Initiative, founded by artist Harvey Nichol
• Build and fill your own mini Balikbayan box to take home
  This event is free to attend—we encourage you to please bring an item to donate to the Tondo Arts Initiative (TAI)—art supplies, beading kits, or anything that inspires creativity and togetherness. We will be filling and decorating a Balikbayan box to send to TAI.
