WHERE: California Theatre of the Performing Arts, 562 W. 4th Street, San Bernardino, CA
MUSIC: please prepare 16-32 bars; sheet music or backing tracks accepted. An accompanist will be available. If submitting by video, you must include a clip with the instrument you play.
DANCE: Be prepared to learn a musical theatre dance combination.

Please Note: Everyone will be required to play an instrument at your general audition as all cast members play an instrument in the show. “Girl” must play the piano and “Guy” must play the guitar, but other characters may not be set in stone (*e.g., we do need a cast member to play violin/fiddle, but it may be someone other than “Reza,” who traditionally plays that instrument)
Girl: A determined and witty dreamer. Girl has come from the Czech Republic to Dublin for a new life. She is passionate about playing the piano and making music. Female, range: B4-F#3, plays piano.
Guy: A down-on-his-luck musician in Dublin. He is lovesick and lost. He loves making songs and playing guitar but is ready to give up. Male, range: G#4-F#2, plays guitar.
Billy: A music store owner who allows Girl to play piano in his shop. Opinionated and loyal to those he cares about. Male, plays guitar.
Reza: Girl's vivacious and flirtatious roommate. Plays violin.ge: Female, range: A5-D4
Baruska: Girl's mother. Loving, generous, and idealistic. Female. Plays accordion/piano.
Bank Manager: Corporate outside, but artistic on the inside. Plays guitar and cello. Male, range: B4-G3
Da: Guy's father. A caring man who loves his son. Male, range: E4-G3, plays guitar, mandolin, ukulele.
Svec: Girl's quirky roommate. Plays drums and guitar. Male
Andrej: Girl's roommate. A big dreamer. Plays guitar and bass. Male, range: F#4-A3
Eamon: A Dublin music studio manager. Plays guitar and piano. Male
Emcee: Host of an open mic at a Dublin pub. Plays guitar. Male, range: D4-C3
Ex-Girlfriend: Guy's ex-girlfriend. Wanting a better life, she's moved from Dublin to New York. Plays violin. Female
Ivonka: Girl's daughter. Female, Age: 6 to 10
REHEARSALS begin Friday, October. 2024 PERFORMANCES: November 15-17, 2024
